An Important Week and Summer Eating Habits

Today marks the start of an important week in my life as it will be the last I work as a small animal veterinarian before starting a Master's degree in public health. It's been a roller coaster few years, full of highs and lows, stress and thrills, joy and sadness. It's been a blast mostly, but it's time to move on with my career and I'm so excited to learn again!

Today is Scorching hot and sunny again (BTW what on Earth is this weather!?) and when the weather's like this, I'm never able to stomach big hearty meals. It's the season for meze dishes and small plates and we've definitely been eating in this style for the last few months.

Salads, leftovers, and bread: making a meal of it!

We've been eating a ton of fresh tomatoes and vegetables, salads, cold leftovers, and fresh bread to mop everything up. It's a great way to eat- socially and in terms of minimal preparation. We make most dishes from items found in the fridge and pantry or make use of leftovers. It's simple and needs very little planning. You can whip up a quick salad in minutes, eat up any leftover cheese or cold cuts from the weekend roast, slice up some bread and just dive in.

Greek style

It's a great way to eat to make the most of beautiful fresh ingredients and leftover food. Simple, quick, and a great way to reduce food waste plus give you more time to enjoy this beautiful summer weather!
